Position Overview

The collegiate growth specialist works to provide in-person and/or virtual support to college chapters in all areas of operations with a particular emphasis on recruitment and growth. The collegiate education specialist works with various Fraternity staff, workforce volunteers and chapter officers/advisors, and reports to the associate director of collegiate services. The term of the collegiate education specialist position spans the academic year with the opportunity for a second year.

Job Functions

  • Provide guidance on Theta operations, policies, and procedures to group of college chapters in high need of support
    • Develop or update action plans to address deficiencies
    • Collaborate with support teams to ensure chapter needs are met
  • Create and facilitate educational workshops with a focus on recruitment and growth
  • Assist with recruitment data input and management
  • Travel for collegiate chapter visits
    • Coordinate visit and travel schedule
    • Provide support for primary recruitment and continuous open bidding (COB)
    • Identify areas of chapter operations requiring attention during each visit 
    • Facilitate one-on-one meetings with chapter members, officers, and advisors 
    • Strengthen internal chapter operations by training officers, motivating chapter members, implementing policies, teaching problem-solving techniques and conflict resolution skills
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Display strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exhibit a high-level of professionalism and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrate strong time management skills
  • Experience in workshop facilitation, educational presentations, and peer mentoring

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to travel across the United States and Canada
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends
